Midnight Beast

No one has a sense of humor anymore.. at least not similar to mine anyway. Came across this parody of Down.. the Jay Sean song where he looked to ying in the mv but the moves were quite boyband-ish la. Seriously, I thought the parody by Midnight Beast was hilarious!! But then, every single person I showed it to had, like, no reaction -.-

Come on.. the dance moves and rapping parts are totally awesome!! Oh.. and you probably gotta watch it in hq if it doesn't load.. Anyone out there find this video funny?? Anyone??

Gifts and Shopping and NYResolutions

Ok ok... probably a whole lot of posts at one go ain't gonna make for.. what.. 4-5 months?? Can't really remember.. but I just wanna show my appreciation for all the little things in life which mean so much when given by the right people =)

From Jieyang: piglet (2008) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (2009)

Shi thinks I'm an alcoholic!!

Ohh... what's this from Steph Ong?

Tada! Haha.. Damn funny.. She just gave it to me last week I think.. and it was for Christmas!

From Steph Yen: Guess Gold.. kinda reminds me of Benefit's Maybe Baby.

From Wen-Jei: A whole bunch of perfume samples from Victoria's Secret, USA.

I'll be the first to say I was crabby and emo on my birthday coz, in my opinion, I'm OLD and that's no cause to celebrate. I mean.. I just turned 21 and what have I accomplished.. nothing. And then the matter of being single keeps popping up again and again and again.. Anyway, the point is everyone was so nice to me and it really made me feel better at the end of the day =)

The day started out with cake and ice cream at Yichieh's place with the ex-Lodgians which was really fun.. I'll always remember Leonard was the only guy and Joanne had this awesome beanie with a smiley face when she pulled it all the way down!! And Shih Yang couldn't make it coz he fell on the stairs and sprained his ankle.. what made this so memorable was that the exact same thing happened to Feng and Yichieh!! Then Feng and I joined Shi, Jieyang and Lilian for Sherlock Holmes and Korean food!!

The necklace is from Lilian and the bag's from Steph Ong, Shi, Jieyang and Ben (I think that's all of them.. )

This was the super-belated presents from Xin Ying and Jie-Ying when we met up with Jiun Siang for Middle Eastern food and "The Road".

My mom likes to think that's the key to my freedom but, in actual fact, it's a collar!!

Should have known my dad always send me a new notebook and calendar from the Sarawak Forestry every year..

My belated Boxing Day/ New Year/ early CNY shopping! Found out it's really fast to go to Westfield using London overground.. Omg.. I think Steph Yen and I went there at least 3 times last week =P

Aiyarrr!!! New Year resolutions ah: Number one: stop eating so much!!! Later cannot fit into my (new) clothes.. haha.. Damn annoying la.. stress makes me eat, get gastric and constipation.. My inital number one was to buy no new clothes until I lost some weight but... it got really cold and I needed more layers (of clothes, not adipose tissue!!).. Errmmm.. the rest are kinda standard every year: study, study, study.. get work experience.. go gym.. bla bla bla bla bla..

M to the I to the A

Missing In Action for months!! *guilty guilty* Sooo much has happened since last summer.. Well.. maybe not that much.. but there were some highlights.. and downfalls!!

1) Went for ONE ee lecture and meeting only to run away to Mech Eng coz it totally freaked me out in a baaad way.. So far 3rd year is ok la.. except the project. Damn celaka.. It's a design, MANUFACTURE and testing project for goodness sake.. 2 out of the 3 members in my group failed the manufacturing workshop in second year so they won't let us use the workshop. Takkan one person only do the entire manufacturing!!

2) I've moved to an awesome house near Fulham Broadway. Have to take a bus to uni now but it's ok.. and it's much closer to Steph Ong's place in Tooting Broadway too. We had an awesome housewarming where we (us girls and Steph Yen's boyf) cooked like crazy.. Oh.. it was also to celebrate Brian's birthday.

Did a ridiculous amount of chopping that day.

End product =)

3) Watched Jersey Boys with Paul!!! Hahaha... Didn't know he enjoyed musicals.. Was supposed to go with Steph but she fell really ill on that day.. Anyway, loved it so much, I downloaded the entire soundtrack the moment I got back.. Jersey Boys is highly recommended.. as awesome as Wicked!!! Love "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Ragdoll".

That's for 2 tickets =)

4) Went to Venice, Pisa and Rome with Feng, Berps and Shih Yang over Christmas. Most of my photos (which is not much is not much since my battery died and I didn't bring a charger) are already on FB.. these are just my favs..

Kuching!!

Kuching!!

Lovely scenery in Venice..

And I mean lovely!!

THE most adorable little dog in the train ^^

Ultra-wet day to visit the leaning tower of Pisa.

No awesome pictures of food (the memories will be in my heart and Shih Yang's map forever) but here's a photo of the colosseum ..

5) Have gone a little crazy with the baking.. there's like 3 different types of sugar (icing, granulated and caster), 3 different types of flour (bread, plain and self-rising), baking soda, baking powder and a whole lot of other stuff in my kitchen.. So far, I've made banana cake (coz the bananas were waaay too black), Jamie Oliver's bloomin' brilliant brownies, tiramisu, red velvet (fail!!! except for the icing!!) and, most recently, carrot cake... just finished the last of it just now.. no pics =(

I guess there really isn't much HAPPENING in my life if I can list them out like that.. haha.. well.. nothing else I can think of at the moment.. It takes so much more effort to upload photos now coz I can't get the bluetooth on my idiot phone to function. This means I use the camera, upload it and resize them.. you would think it would be easier with technology these days..

Blog on hold

It's not that I don't wanna update.. I have, in fact, tried several times. Unfortunately, everything is on hold due to the sucky internet connection which keeps getting interrupted.. every single day. What is going on here??? So... I can't upload photos.. can't do nothing.. =(

50% alcohol

I knew I missed out something.. Lookie what I found in my camera: Cap Apek. And if you look really carefully near the bottom of the bottle, it says 50% alcohol. Came across this while I was in Lundu late last month.. I never knew alcohol levels (drinks wise) could go that high.

Achy breaky heart

Q: Who's the latest man to make my little heart flutter??
A: Roger Federer

I was watching a replay of the US Open final between Federer and Del Potro. Of course, I didn't know the results yet. And for some inexplicable reason, my heart did a little flutter as I watched Federer play.. I mean.. I grew up watching this guy win so many tennis competitions on tv and I just wanted him to keep on winning.

Ten minutes later, during a commercial, I switched the channel to CNN.. which reported that Federer lost to Del Potro!!! My heart just dropped. It was already 3 hours into the game!! He was THIS close to winning.. Why? How?

Ah.. couldn't bring myself to watch the rest of the game.. =(

Damai - Gunung Gading - Pandan Beach

I have been driving sooo much... last weekend alone, I drove to Damai on Saturday and Lundu on Sunday. Ok.. I'll be the first to admit my driving needs to be improved.. but I got everyone there and back safely on both days. Not sure what my passengers would say though..

On Saturday, all the Imperial people in Kuching went to Damai to see the beach. First, I had to pick up Chee Chung and Kuo Jian at Jalan Song.. Omg.. took me forever to find their house. Then I went past Phoebe's house and had to turn around. We proceeded to Chong Choon for laksa and I kinda took a wrong turning.. No matter.. we made it to Damai, ate lunch at Buntal, went to Song Kheng Hai for sugarcane and coconut.. too bad Sunny Hill was closed so no ice cream.

Sadly, I don't have any photos from Damai.. and my photos from Lundu are quite sucky.. this is what happens when you're too lazy to use a camera.. or when no one wants to take charge.. Anyway, it's supposed to take 3 hours to reach the peak of Gunung Gading. Since it was a family trip, we made it as far as the first waterfall only which took about 30 minutes.

Wth.. no photo of the waterfall itself..

Just chilling on a rock.

The family minus me.

Just in case.. park rescue team contact: 735144

Rafflesia- not in bloom this time of the year.

Sweaty, sunny afternoon.

Well.. that was it.. went to Pandan beach after.. again no pictures at the beach. Celaka. I was the only one who swam since I brought extra clothes and a towel. Brother read a book, Dad just walked around and Mom sat in the car in front of the air-con. Sighz.. I feel so unfulfilled... and inspired to return to Gunung Gading and reach the peak!!! If not this year, then next summer because people are leaving already..
